3679 State Highway 31 (Kawhia Road), Oparau Te Kauri Lodge is a pleasant one hour drive from Hamilton, and a 20 minute drive to Kawhia. Pirongia Forest Park is a 30 minute drive. The lodge is also close to Te Araroa, a 3000km walking trail the length of New Zealand.
